Growing up on a farm with horses, dogs, cats, goats, cows etc., I was already influenced in my early childhood by the handling of animals, the breeding aspect, taking into account animal welfare and working to keep the stock healthy.
I currently live with my pack of miniature dachshunds and my two (neutered, home-bred) Chihuahua brothers Adam and Jacob on Lake Starnberg in Bavaria.

Breeder qualifications

It all started in 2010 at the Cologne Dog Academy. In addition to many other courses, I took the § 11 TierSchG/expert knowledge test for commercial breeding and keeping there. I was tested after the corresponding course units:
  • Dog behavior in the pack

  • Attitude in consideration of social contacts

  • Movement from an animal welfare perspective

  • Commercial keeping of packs, free-range areas, accommodation

  • Equipment & hygiene

  • Physical & mental exercise

  • First aid for dogs

  • Diseases, vaccinations, parasite control

  • Travel regulations and transportation

  • Use of dogs in sport

  • Training under animal welfare aspects

  • Feeding and nutritional principles

  • Cycle of the female dog
  • Birth and birth disorders

  • Care of mother & puppies, motherless rearing
  • Diseases of female dogs & puppies

  • Hygiene and parasite control in breeding

  • Feeding pregnant & lactating female dogs

  • Official approvals, registration requirements

  • Legal knowledge, dog tax, liability

  • Animal Welfare Act, dog regulations

  • Breeding regulations (FCI)

Following my heart, I decided at that time to breed Chihuahua dogs professionally and under veterinary control. For the official acceptance of my kennel, I took the examination in Bavaria in accordance with §11 TierSchG (Animal Welfare Act) once again, as the certificate of competence from NRW was unfortunately not accepted across the federal states. Of course, I regularly attend breeder seminars from various providers to deepen my genetic and breeding-specific knowledge and to keep up to date. I stopped breeding Chihuahuas at the beginning of 2022 after reaching my breeding goal. My remaining adult girls have all been neutered (for the safety of the dogs after breeding) and moved to existing customers who already had one or more dogs from me. I have been breeding the American Miniature Dachshund since 2023 – the genetic color base is the same as for the Chihuahua and special colors / genetics are my hobby.
My second passion alongside breeding is holistic nutrition. Unfortunately, our animals in particular are often neglected here and merely run parallel in the household. A dog does not always have to be fed on a barf or cooked ration, but in the wide range of industrial food on offer, attention should at least (!) be paid to a high-quality, open declaration. A healthy diet is the base for giving our pets a good life for as long as possible.
In 2020, I began my almost 2-year, very in-depth training as a nutritionist for animals (dogs/cats) through the Barf-Gut Academy (Ute Wadehn) with a final examination and thesis. I later focused on diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (IBD, pancreatitis, leaky gut, intolerances, allergies, microbiome dysbiosis, etc.).
As I work according to a holistic approach in my practice, I am also a mycotherapist for animals, have attended courses in phytotherapy, laboratory diagnostics and numerous other seminars/courses through various THP schools to deepen my specialist knowledge. At the end of 2023, I completed the animal nutrition consultant course once again with Mirjam Viehweger (Praxis für Tierernährung). Since 2024 I have also been training in TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine).
